ISPOR stands for International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and it’s the leading global professional society in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research. Every year, ISPOR organizes conference all around the world to spread the word about their latests researches and publications, and network with the most influential professionals in the sector.
ISPOR organizes each year four main conferences around the globe: ISPOR Asia Pacific, ISPOR Dubai, ISPOR Summit and ISPOR Europe.
This year, ISPOR Europe 2018 will be held in Barcelona and will be the meeting point for professionals from the HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research) sector, whose main objective is to discover the latest trends in the sector, learn from the latest research by the sector's leading experts and share knowledge on health, pharma and scientific research.
ISPOR Europe 2018 is aimed to health experts and the entire community of leaders, researchers, professors, government members, patients, patient associations and any other experts with decision-making power in companies in the sector. We seek to diversify the profiles of event attendees within the sector, with the aim of making exchanges and networking sessions richer to stimulate conversations and discussions among all participants.
The previous edition, ISPOR 2017 brought together more than 4,900 industry experts, more than 98 exhibiting companies from more than 84 countries to participate in more than 2,400 presentations and talks throughout the event.
The next edition of ISPOR Europe 2018 will take place from the 10th to 14th of November in Barcelona, at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB). The Center is located in the new Technological and Business District of Barcelona, one of the most suitable and convenient places to find hotels, restaurants and public transport during the congress.
The Barcelona International Convention Centre is integrated into the new maritime façade of the Barcelona coast, Diagonal Mar, which makes it one of the most attractive places for visitors.
Organized for the first time in Barcelona, the ISPOR conference has several activities and presentations organized during the 4 days of the event. In addition to three main plenary sessions, the event will count with the following activities for all the assistants:
As long as it is a conference for industry professionals, conference registration is required in any case. During ISPOR Barcelona 2018, you will be able to join all of the activities organised during the congress with the aim of making new contacts with clients during your stay.
Among all the activities, Education Symposia are 1 hour sponsored presentations open to at all ISPOR 2018 delegates in which the topic is related to ISPOR's mission, following a scientific discourse, not a promotion of a particular drug, product or service. On the other hand, the Educational Forums are half day (4 hrs) or full day (8 hrs) by invitation only meetings for up to 50 people. This Educational Forums are supported by an educational grant from the host organization and there are not included in the main conference schedule as they are by invitation only.

During ISPOR conference 2018, the most important professionals of the health and pharma sector will meet in the Catalan city to participate in the meeting. There are different ways to get to the Barcelona International Convention Centre, either by public or private transport.

The Aeropuerto del Prat is the main international airport in the area, located south of Barcelona, less than 30 minutes by car from the Business District where the Convention Centre is located. Barcelona Airport is the second airport in Spain (after Madrid airport) with the highest air traffic: it has flights to more than 215 destinations.
From the airport, there are several public transport services that connect El Prat with the Business District and its area of influence (metro, bus, intercity lines, train, etc), although there is no direct transport.
There is an "Aerobus" (express bus service) that you can grab from the airport to the Plaza Catalunya area. Airport Aerobus stops are located right outside each airport terminal. Once in Plaza Catalunya, ride the metro red line to Urquinaona Plaza, and connect on the yellow line to El Maresme Forum.
The price of an Aerobus ticket at the airport is 5.90€, and a metro ticket is 2.20€. Total of the trip: 8.10€.
The estimated time to get from the airport to the International Convention Center is 1 hour by Aerobus and metro.
If you prefer to take a bus from El Prat Airport, you must first take the Aerobus (from the terminal where you are) to get to Plaza de España. From Plaza de España, take the H16 bus to reach “Pl. Levante” and walk the last 150 meters to the Barcelona Convention Centre.

The distance from Barcelona Airport to the Barcelona Convention Centre is about 20 km, which is a private car drive of about 25 minutes. We recommend this option to all our clients because of the comfort and calm of traveling in a private transport. And also, because it's 100% free for all our customers.

If you arrive to Barcelona by train, you will probably arrive directly at Sants Station: the main station of the city, with daily connections to many cities in Spain and France.
From Sants Station, you can take the R1 train to Sant Adrià de Besòs / Estació de Sant Adrià. Then, take a Tram from “Estació de Sant Adrià” to the “Fòrum” station, located at 150m from the Barcelona Convention Centre and the ISPOR 2018 conference.
